Northshore PTSA Council President
Supports the work of the Council, directly or through the efforts of others on the Council Board of Directors, as outlined below . . .
• Council is a structure created to support, coordinate, facilitate, and serve the local units in its area.
• Council does not compete with local units in fund-raising efforts, or by offering the same programs as local units do.
• Council serves the entire area, not just a portion of it, by helping units focus on what they need to pay attention to and when, by training officers as they come into their positions, and by collaborating with the Northshore School District.
• Council provides a communication link between district, PTAs, and parents in the community.
• Council answers questions for local units and assist with conflict resolution.
• Council is a resource for information and experience to local unit leaders and offers mentoring of future leaders.
• Council is a collective voice for the children we serve.
• STEM: Support, Train, Encourage and Models correct behavior for Local Units
How does Council provide these services?
• Regularly scheduled Council Meetings
• Needs assessment surveys from Local Units
• Regular two-way communications
• Train/Mentor future leaders
• Offer programs/support that Local Units require
• Travel to local units with Council information and services
• Newsletter articles – Council and Local Unit articles
• Face-2-Face meetings at their units
• Actively seek out new leaders
• Reach out to Local Units and the larger community
• Present Council value to the school board and represent membership interests
• Participate in community events
