Washington State PTA Advocacy

Vision: "To be advocates for ALL kids and ALL families."

The mission of the PTA is three-fold:

  • To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children
  • To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children
  • To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

PTA is the largest child advocacy organization in the nation. We are 5.7 million strong nationally and 146,000 members strong in Washington State.

You are an advocate:

  • When you speak up for your child to his/her teacher
  • When you speak up for changes in curriculum at your school
  • When you speak up for a cross walk to make it safer for children to cross the street
  • When you speak up to reform the children's welfare system
